LFW: OUR HIGHLIGHTS IN DETAILS

From the biggest runway shows to presentations by some of our favourite new designers, London Fashion Week S/S 18 was filled with exciting moments. Here are our favourites...

Rejina Pyo’s First Runway
She’s the designer that made structural gold buttons a thing and minimalism seem slick. Her first runway collection was everything we’d dreamed it would be and more.

Specs Appeal
We didn’t think it was possible, but retro sunglasses have gone even more, well, retro. Forget black frames: you need all-over orange, mirrored lenses or rose-tinted glasses for real specs appeal.

Check, please
Thanks to fashion’s penchant for retro, Burberry’s infamous checks are back. What can we say aside from: buy.it.right.now. (Tip: don’t exercise caution with doubling up on prints - that’s the whole point)

Minimalist Statements
We’re still all about the disco jewels, but how about something for those less glitz inclined? Enter Pringle’s scultural pieces that make a statement out of nature.

Maximalist Statements
We loved everything at Topshop, but we especially loved the layering of pearls and gemstones on more pearls and gemstones.

Rejina Pyo x Anissa Kermiche
Two of our favourite designers in the world have collaborated for the S/S18 runway show, and we couldn’t be happier. What in the world can’t Anissa Kermiche put her golden hand to?

Hats Off to Headgear
Headgear has found its feet this season, and we, for one, are ecstatic. (Left: Emilia Wickstead, right: Preen by Thornton Bregazzi)

Sparkling Shoes
Disclaimer: direct eye contact may cause temporary stars in their eyes. That’s a good thing, thanks to Sophia Webster.

Summer's New Cult bag
Sure, Anya Hindmarch’s Spring collection featured transparent cherry hold alls and cute cat faces on shoppers, but this one is our real hit. It’s a genius hybrid of two of this season’s cult items: the round basket and the oversized tote.

Thrift Store Bags
It’s happened: the former anti-it bag has accidentally become the it-bag. By ‘it’, we mean small, squashable and preferably sequinned. (Clock wise from left: Faustine Steinmetz, Rejina Pyo, Faustine Steinmetz, Rejina Pyo)
